A truly comprehensive approach to mental health

Harley Row Clinic’s Story

Harley Row Clinic is a mental health practice for children and adults, founded and led by Dr Pablo Jeczmien.

Following a long-serving medical career, starting out as a heart surgeon before moving into psychiatry, psychoanalysis, psychotherapy and philosophy, Dr Pablo Jeczmien developed a unique approach to mental health.

Dr Pablo Jeczmien previously served as a Consultant Psychiatrist in General Adult Psychiatry for the Sussex Partnership NHS Foundation Trust and is a Fellow of the Royal College of Psychiatrists. His expertise in general psychiatry and psychotherapy spans community, inpatient, and forensic settings.

With a particular interest in ADHD, depression and anxiety disorders, Dr Pablo Jeczmien is well-versed in diagnosing and treating patients with a wide range of mental health issues and psychiatric disorders, including Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), Obsessive Compulsive Disorder, Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, and Bipolar Disorders.

Dr Pablo Jeczmien has witnessed profound results in his patients, and through meeting specialist clinicians that share his values, and the philosophy of this approach, decided to set up his own private practice in 2020.

At Harley Row Clinic, every patient benefits from the collective minds of the practice’s clinicians, to ensure they are carefully matched to the right specialist for their care.

Dr Pablo Jeczmien firmly believes that mental health issues cannot be addressed through a physical lens alone. His approach, which has been inspired by various schools of thought and experience, focusses on the whole body, and treating the root cause of a condition, not just the symptoms.

The practice consists of 13 other professionals, who specialise in various mental health conditions and have each come into the team because of their unique specialities and disciplines. By coming together regularly, every patient benefits from the collective minds of the team before they are carefully matched with the right specialist to meet their unique needs. We offer a range of virtual or face-to-face treatments.

From diagnosis, treatment can take a series of simultaneous paths: medication to treat symptoms, and a longer-term combination of psychological intervention and functional medicine to address root causes and the link between mental and physical problems.

Our Unique Three-fold Approach

Everyone’s journey to better well-being is unique to them. At Harley Row Clinic, we recommend an integrated approach to treatment and clinical management. This comprehensive approach combines three pathways – medication to treat symptoms when and if needed, and a longer-term combination of psychological intervention and functional medicine.

Medication

Many mental health conditions have a biological basis, and psychiatric medications can fulfil a key role in providing relief from symptoms.

By treating symptoms, individuals can function better in their daily lives, stabilize their mood, and reduce anxiety – all of which makes it easier for them to engage in their treatment.

Psychological Intervention

At Harley Row Clinic, the practice uses a range of psychological interventions and therapeutic techniques, including counselling, ADHD and autism coaching, life coaching, psychotherapy and mindfulness training to address mental health and enhance well-being.

Every patient will be offered to be seen in the clinic to set their specific goals, interventions, and strategies.

The team also delivers couple, family and group counselling, a variety of educational workshops, and provides coaching for parents and families of young patients.

Functional Medicine

The clinical team at Harley Row Clinic use a range of diagnostic tools and assessments to explore genetic, biochemical, and environmental factors that may all contribute to a patient’s condition.

The role of the microbiome in functional medicine is also significant. Identifying imbalances in the gut microbiome can help address the root causes of mental health conditions and promote overall well-being.

Treatment plans are carefully devised and highly individualised and usually include a combination of dietary modifications, nutritional supplements, alternative therapies, lifestyle changes and stress management techniques.

This approach moves beyond symptom suppression, addressing the root cause of mental health and considering you as a whole person.
